Founded in 1982, the International Banana Association (IBA) is a trade organization consisting of members engaged in the business of importing bananas into the United States. IBA provides a forum for members to discuss common and technical issues pertaining to banana production, distribution, and marketing.

IBA represents the interests of the banana industry in government relations and general promotions. The association works with government agencies to encourage a sound international business and regulatory climate for the banana industry. IBA also assists in the promotion of bananas to enhance public awareness of their health and nutritional qualities.
